Do Something You Both Will Enjoy

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! —2 Corinthians 5:17

Typical resolutions: lose weight, exercise more, stop chatting on the cell phone while driving.
We want to change things that we’re unhappy about—even though most of our resolutions last no more than three weeks.

What if you were to ask God what He wants you to change, improve, or begin this year? He might prompt you to:

Demonstrate more of the fruit of the Spirit in your life (Galatians 5:22–23).
“Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you” (Matthew 5:44).
“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation” (Mark 16:15).
“Be content with what you have” (Hebrews 13:5).

What if you make resolutions focused more on what brings you and Him joy? Imagine how much more energy you will employ in doing what you like.
