As I Begin My Day…

Isaiah 55:10-13:

“As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands. Instead of the thornbush will grow the juniper, and instead of briers the myrtle will grow. This will be for the Lord’s renown, for an everlasting sign that will endure forever.”

And here is a morning prayer derived from the text:

“Heavenly Father, as I rise with the dawn of a new day, I am reminded of the promises in your Word. Just as rain and snow come down from heaven and nourish the earth, may your blessings pour down upon me, saturating my life with growth and flourishing.

May your Word, spoken from your mouth, accomplish its purpose in my life today. Let it not return empty, but rather bring about the fulfillment of your plans for me. May your Word be a lamp unto my path, guiding my steps and leading me towards your perfect will.

Fill my heart with joy and peace as I go forth into the world. May my presence cause a harmonious symphony to resonate around me, as mountains and hills burst into song and all creation joins in praise of your greatness. May my life be a testament to your glory and a reflection of your love.

Transform any thornbushes and briers that may come my way into junipers and myrtles, for you have the power to turn obstacles into opportunities. Grant me strength and resilience to overcome challenges, and let my life be a witness to your faithfulness.

Lord, I thank you for the everlasting sign of your presence in my life. May your name be renowned through all that I say and do, as I strive to bring glory to you in every aspect of my existence. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.”
