As the Day Begins
“Neither knows any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.” — Matthew 11:27
Many people know facts about God without truly knowing God Himself. Jesus reminds us in Matthew 11:27 that the Father is revealed through the Son. Christianity is not merely a collection of doctrines, traditions, or moral principles. It is a living relationship with the living Christ. The danger is that we can become familiar with biblical truth while remaining distant from the One to whom that truth points.
A body without life is lifeless, and truth without a personal encounter with Christ can become little more than information. The Scriptures are God’s revelation, but they were never intended to replace fellowship with Him. When the Holy Spirit illuminates the Word, the pages of Scripture become alive with the presence of God. What some call revival is often simply believers rediscovering authentic New Testament Christianity—a faith rooted not merely in knowledge but in the person of Jesus Christ. As this day begins, ask yourself not only what you know about Christ, but how closely you are walking with Him. Truth has a soul because truth is ultimately found in a Person.
Father, thank You for revealing Yourself through Your Son. Guard me from settling for mere information about You while missing the joy of knowing You personally. Open my heart today to receive Your wisdom, Your love, and Your guidance as I walk in faith.
Jesus, thank You for making the Father known. I place my trust not merely in doctrines or traditions, but in You. Draw me closer to Your heart today. Help me hear Your voice, follow Your example, and rest in Your grace through every circumstance I face.
Holy Spirit, breathe life into the Scriptures as I read them today. Illuminate my mind and soften my heart so that Your truth transforms me from within. Lead me into deeper fellowship with Christ and empower me to live faithfully and obediently throughout this day.
Thought for the Day
Before seeking more information about God, spend time seeking God Himself. Let every passage of Scripture become an invitation to encounter the living Christ and to deepen your relationship with Him.
