All In Good Time

God has a plan and a purpose for your life.  That has been our message for the last two years.  "I know the plans I have for you." declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you, plans to give you hope and a future."  We struggle and struggle and fail to remember that God is the only real source of fulfillment in this life.   Do you ever feel confused about this life or frustrated with its results.  Believe me.  Whatever God has planned for you will be wonderful.  God has a plan for your life that will fulfill you in every way.  You will find it only by finding Him.

Abba Poemen wrote, "Do not give your heart to that which does not satisfy your heart."

Remember…

  1. God has a wonderful plan for your life and He is eager to help you discover it.  Ask Him.
  2. All God requires is a listening ear, an open heart and feet that are quick to follow His lead.

Simply…

  1. Study the words of Jesus to learn about His will and purpose for you life.
  2. Set aside all preconceived notions about what God has in store for you.
  3. Take it slow.  God will reveal His plan in His perfect time.

"Our culture’s preoccupation with happiness has made us a selfish people but the worst part of it is that it hasn’t made us happy."  Tony Campolo

Simple Love

Everyone of us longs for a more simple life.  We remember the carefree days of childhood when someone else worried and provided for us.  We want to be taken care of again but God has decided that maturity requires we take care of another so they can experience some of that comforting joy.

We who are older must satisfy ourselves with being provided for by a gracious Lord and enjoying the company of those around us.  Responsibility is the decision we make to love another.

Horatius Bonar wrote, "Beloved, let us love for only thus shall we behold the God who loves us."

Thomas Merton said, "Love seeks only one thing: the good of the one loved."

We can achieve a more simple live by living with a more simple love.  Life is only complicated when we seek satisfaction through anything but love.  The apostle Paul put it simply, "If I speak in the tongues of mortals and of angels but do not have love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal."  I Cor. 13:1

I pray that neither weather, politicians or the economy cause you too much strife.  I pray that today you may find the satisfaction of doing something good for someone you love.  They will smile and you will enjoy a more simple life.
