As I Rise…

John 15:13 states: “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”

Here’s a morning prayer for Memorial Day:

“Dear Heavenly Father,

As we begin this new day, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude and reverence. Today, we remember and honor the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. We acknowledge their selflessness and the profound love they demonstrated by laying down their lives for the sake of others.

Lord, we pray for the families and friends of those who have lost loved ones in the line of duty. Comfort them, O God, in their grief and grant them Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Surround them with Your love and support, providing strength and healing to their wounded hearts.

We also lift up in prayer all the active-duty military personnel, veterans, and their families. Protect and guide them in their daily lives. Grant them courage, wisdom, and discernment as they serve and defend our nation. May Your divine shield be upon them, and may they always feel Your presence and know that they are not alone.

Heavenly Father, we pray for peace in our world. May conflicts cease, and may harmony and understanding prevail among all nations. Help us to cherish the freedoms we enjoy and to be responsible stewards of the liberties that have been secured through sacrifice.

Finally, Lord, we ask for Your blessings upon our land. Bless our leaders with wisdom, integrity, and compassion as they make decisions that impact the lives of many. Unite us as a nation, bridging our divides and fostering a spirit of unity and respect.

We offer this prayer with gratitude and hope, knowing that You hear and answer our prayers. In Your holy name, we pray.

Amen.”
