Any true encounter with God requires a personal response on our part (Gen. 28:18-19)
Reflection: Jacob poured oil on a rock to symbolize his recognition of God’s presence. That act would lead to the greater devotion of the tithe. Imagine what it would mean to you to pour an extra cup at your table or address Him in your conversation as you would a friend. Small actions others don’t see will be seen by God and remembered by you.
