Baseball Team to Wear Jerseys Modeled after Michael Jackson’s ‘Beat It’ Jacket

In the world of professional, independent league baseball, teams will try almost anything to get fans into seats. Even if that means wearing novelty jerseys. In honor of Michael Jackson—who was born in Gary, Indiana—the American Association’s Gary Southshore Railcats will wear uniforms modeled after the red leather jacket the King of Pop famously wore in his music video for “Beat It.” If you happen to be in Gary next Saturday, and want to see baseball players attempt to play an entire game in glittery, faux-leather style T-shirts, than it’s your lucky day …
