As My Day Begins…

Exodus 27 is part of the instructions given by God to Moses regarding the construction of the Tabernacle. The chapter provides specific details for building the altar of burnt offering, made of acacia wood and overlaid with bronze. It measures 5 cubits by 5 cubits and 3 cubits high, with horns at each corner.

Further, the chapter delineates the instructions for the construction of the court of the Tabernacle. The court is to be 100 cubits long on the north and south sides, and 50 cubits wide on the east and west sides. Curtains made of fine twisted linen would surround the court, and bronze pillars and silver bases would support them.

The chapter also prescribes the oil for the lampstand, which is to be pure, beaten olive oil. Aaron and his sons were to keep the lampstand burning in the Tent of Meeting from evening until morning continually.

The meticulousness in the design emphasizes the holiness of the Tabernacle and the specific way in which God wished to be worshiped. It underscores the importance of obedience to God’s commands and reflects the reverence and the care with which the Israelites were to approach the Divine.

Based on Exodus 27, here’s a morning prayer:

“Omnipotent and Everlasting Father, in Your infinite wisdom, You have ordained the sacred altar and the holy court as a place of worship and communion with You. As we gather in this sacred space, we humbly seek Your guidance and presence. Help us to approach this day with hearts filled with gratitude and reverence, recognizing the privilege it is to stand before You.

May the flickering flame of the lamp stand serve as a poignant reminder of the purity and steadfastness of our devotion to You. Just as the oil nourishes the lamp, may our lives be fueled by a deep and unwavering love for You, that our thoughts, words, and actions may be a pleasing offering to Your holy name.

Grant us, dear Father, the grace and wisdom to build our lives according to Your divine design. As we embark on the journey of this day, may we strive to align our will with Yours and seek to walk in Your ways. May the details of our daily tasks be infused with a sense of purpose and significance, as we dedicate every action to Your honor and glory.

In the busyness and distractions of life, help us to remain steadfast in our commitment to You. In every decision we make, may we constantly seek Your guidance and rely on Your unfailing wisdom. May our lives reflect the care, diligence, and honor that we owe to You, the Creator of all things.

With grateful hearts, we offer this prayer in the precious name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.”_
