Don’t Stray
Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word (Psalm 119:67).
Neglecting prayer and the study of God’s Word leads Christians to stray from the path of righteousness. When we become lax in our spiritual disciplines, we become susceptible to the devil’s deceptions. Psalm 119:67 highlights the correlation between affliction and correction, showing us that straying leads to suffering, but adherence to God’s Word restores us. As Matthew Henry notes, “Afflictions are sent to bring us home when we wander.”
A lack of courage to say no to non-Christian influences can pull us back into old habits, making us easy prey for Satan. The Apostle James admonishes us to submit to God and resist the devil, promising that the devil will flee from us (James 4:7-8). Don’t Strut

Relaxing moral standards can lead to spiritual decay. However, Christ offers restoration to those who repent and forsake their sins. By assisting the less fortunate and sharing the gospel, we actively combat evil and help lift others from darkness into the light of Christ. As Martin Luther King Jr. stated, “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” By embodying Christ’s love and righteousness, we avoid falling into Satan’s snares and shine as beacons of hope.
Don’t Stop
But he that endureth to the end shall be saved (Matthew 10:22).
Perseverance is vital in the Christian walk. Many start strong in their faith journey but falter along the way due to Satan’s distractions and attacks. Enduring to the end requires steadfast faith and reliance on God’s strength. Matthew 10:22 promises salvation to those who persevere, encouraging us to stay the course despite challenges.
No problem is too great, no trial too severe, for God’s help and grace are always sufficient. Romans 8:37-39 assures us that we are more than conquerors through Christ, who loves us.
