Knowing and Sharing His Resurrection

As the Day Begins

Scripture: “…and be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ—the righteousness from God that depends on faith— that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and may share His sufferings, becoming like Him in His death, that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead.” (Philippians 3:9–11, ESV)

Devotional Meditation

The apostle Paul’s words in Philippians 3:9–11 cut straight to the heart of the Christian walk. He confesses that true righteousness is not something he could ever achieve on his own through obedience to the law or human effort. Instead, it is a gift from God, received by faith in Christ. This reminds us that our spiritual disciplines, as valuable as they are, do not save us—they shape us. Salvation rests only in Jesus’ finished work on the cross. As we begin this day, Paul invites us to lay aside any false sense of spiritual achievement and instead rest in the righteousness that comes from Christ alone.

But Paul does not stop there. He speaks of a deep desire “to know Him and the power of His resurrection.” To know Christ is not merely to acknowledge His existence or to recite truths about Him, but to live in a dynamic, daily relationship with Him. The power of the resurrection is not only a future hope of eternal life but also a present strength that sustains us in trials, temptations, and sorrows. Every time we choose forgiveness over bitterness, faith over fear, or humility over pride, we experience resurrection power at work in us. This power is not theoretical—it is real, shaping the contours of our faith journey as we move through the joys and burdens of daily life.

Paul also declares his willingness to “share in His sufferings.” These are not empty words of religious zeal but a recognition that following Christ often means walking a path of sacrifice. To suffer with Christ is to trust Him when circumstances are painful, to bear witness when faith is costly, and to walk faithfully when the road is steep. In doing so, we are conformed to His likeness. This transforms suffering from something meaningless into a fellowship with Christ Himself. As you step into today’s responsibilities, remember that both the victories and the struggles are places where you meet Jesus. To know Him fully is to share His death so that you might also share in His resurrection life.

Triune Prayer

Heavenly Father,
I come before You with a heart of gratitude that You have clothed me in the righteousness of Christ. Thank You that I do not need to earn Your love through my works, but that You have given me salvation as a gift through faith. Father, I ask for wisdom and discernment today. Help me to walk in humility, to see others through Your eyes, and to extend grace where it is needed most. May Your steady hand guide me as I face both challenges and opportunities, and may I always remember that my worth is not in my performance but in my position as Your child.

Lord Jesus, Son of God,
You are the One I long to know more deeply. Thank You for the power of Your resurrection that gives me hope, strength, and courage for each moment. I confess that I often seek comfort and security in temporary things rather than in You. Teach me to embrace Your presence and to walk faithfully in Your footsteps. When trials come, help me not to shrink back but to see them as opportunities to share in Your sufferings and to become more like You. Grant me courage to stand for truth, tenderness to show compassion, and boldness to proclaim Your name in all I do.

Holy Spirit,
You are my Comforter and Guide, ever present in the details of my day. Fill me anew with Your power, that I may experience the resurrection life of Christ in my actions, thoughts, and words. Remind me that I am never alone, for You dwell within me. Shape my heart to reflect the love of the Father and the obedience of the Son. When I am weary, breathe life into me; when I am distracted, draw me back to prayer; when I am afraid, remind me of Your unshakable presence. Lead me today in paths of righteousness and let every step I take bring glory to God.

Thought for the Day

Knowing Christ is not just about believing in Him but about walking with Him daily—sharing in His strength, His love, and even His sufferings—so that His resurrection life may shine through you.

Thank you for beginning your day in God’s presence. May you walk today with confidence in Christ’s righteousness, strength in His resurrection power, and peace in the fellowship of His Spirit.
