Beasts, Kingdoms, and God’s Rule

Thru the Bible in a Year

As we enter the second half of Daniel, the tone shifts dramatically. The first six chapters gave us stories of faith and courage—Daniel in the lions’ den, the fiery furnace, dreams interpreted, and kings confronted. Now, beginning in chapter 7, we move into the prophetic visions that God entrusted to Daniel. These visions carry a different weight. They lift our eyes beyond Daniel’s personal history to the unfolding plan of God across the nations and the ages.

It is important to remember that these visions came during times of great uncertainty. Daniel was living in exile, serving under foreign rulers, yet God allowed him glimpses into His sovereign plan. That alone is a comfort for us today: when our world feels uncertain, God is not silent. He reveals Himself through His Word, reminding us that He reigns over history, no matter how chaotic it appears.

Daniel 7: The Vision of Four Beasts

Daniel’s first vision in this section came during the reign of Belshazzar. It was a nighttime vision, one that must have left him shaken. He saw four beasts, each unlike the other. The first resembled a lion with eagle’s wings, the second was a bear with three ribs in its mouth, the third a leopard with four wings and four heads, and the fourth was unlike anything he had ever seen—terrifying, with iron teeth and ten horns.

The details are striking, but the message is even more significant. Each beast represented an empire that would rise and fall. Kingdoms that seemed unshakable in their day were, in reality, under the judgment of God. Daniel saw that their time would be limited. No matter how powerful or oppressive, each beast would face destruction. The vision reminded him—and us—that human power is temporary, but God’s dominion is everlasting.

Daniel was particularly troubled by the fourth beast, a picture of repression and hostility against God’s people. He asked for clarity, and the answer was sobering. This empire would indeed persecute the saints, but it would not endure forever. Judgment would come, and in the end, “the saints of the Most High shall receive the kingdom and possess the kingdom forever, forever and ever” (Daniel 7:18). What hope this brings! Even in seasons when believers face hostility, God promises vindication and eternal rule.

This vision reminds me of Jesus’ words in John 16:33: “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” Our present sufferings are not the final word. The saints will share in the eternal kingdom of God.

Daniel 8: The Vision of the Ram and the Goat

Daniel’s second vision took place while he was in Shushan, also known as Susa. This time he saw a ram with two horns, one higher than the other, representing the dual kingdom of Media and Persia. Suddenly, a goat with one large horn appeared, rushing swiftly against the ram and shattering its power. The goat grew exceedingly strong, but at the height of its power, its great horn was broken. In its place came four lesser horns, and from one of them rose a figure who desecrated the temple and oppressed God’s people.

The angel Gabriel was sent to explain the vision. The ram represented the Medo-Persian empire, while the goat symbolized Greece. The great horn was its first ruler—history shows us this was Alexander the Great—whose empire, after his death, was divided among four generals. From one of these divisions arose a king who opposed God and persecuted Israel. Yet even his reign would end, because God alone rules history.

This vision shows us both the accuracy and the authority of God’s Word. Long before these empires rose to prominence, God declared their rise and fall. The names of nations change, but the pattern remains: earthly power is temporary; God’s sovereignty is eternal. For those of us walking by faith today, this is a steadying truth. We may watch the world stage shift with conflict, politics, and change, but nothing happens outside the scope of God’s hand.

Living in Light of the Visions

What do these visions mean for us in daily discipleship? First, they remind us that earthly kingdoms rise and fall, but the kingdom of God endures forever. Our hope must never rest in governments or rulers but in the Lord who reigns over all. Second, they encourage us to endure during seasons of hardship. Just as Daniel’s visions acknowledged persecution and oppression, they also assured the saints of ultimate victory. Third, they call us to trust in God’s timing. Alexander’s sudden rise and fall, the emergence of oppressive rulers, and their ultimate destruction all happened exactly as God said they would. His Word does not fail.

I think of Isaiah 40:15, which says, “Surely the nations are like a drop in a bucket; they are regarded as dust on the scales.” That is not to minimize the pain that kingdoms and rulers can cause, but to remind us that their time is short and God’s justice will prevail.

A Word of Encouragement

As you continue through the Bible this year, remember that the visions of Daniel are not simply history lessons. They are faith lessons. They call us to live with endurance, courage, and trust in God’s sovereign plan. When you see the “beasts” of this age—systems of oppression, leaders who mock God, or powers that seem unstoppable—remember that their days are numbered. The saints of the Most High will inherit the kingdom, and nothing can undo God’s promise.

Thank you for walking faithfully through Scripture today. Your commitment to God’s Word honors Him and strengthens your soul. As Isaiah promised, God’s Word will not return void, but will accomplish the purpose for which He sent it. May today’s reading anchor you in the certainty of God’s sovereignty and the hope of His eternal kingdom.

  1. Elon Musk communicates with both rational and subliminal techniques. Musk speaks in a brilliant calm manner. Notice the sparkles in the backdrop while he spoke. Musk said it best: “Connect the dots”. Hence the sparkling dots suggests the subliminal idea of “connect the dots”.

The “Charlie Kirk syndrome” where the Democratic Left continually makes ad hominem personal attacks wherein Trump was continually condemned. Trump supporters call this irrational stream of ad hominem attacks: Trump Derangement Syndrome. This “Charlie Kirk syndrome” wherein foreign countries condemn Israel exclusively. The foundation of this irrational bigotry which exclusively condemns Israel, its genesis began with the post Six Day War UN Security Council Resolution 242 promoted by Britain and France. Remember these 2nd tier European powers attempted to seize the Suez Canal in the 1956 War.

Chapter VI UN Resolution 242 only recommends “occupied territories”. But the 1964 PLO charter only referred to “occupied territory” as ’48 Israel. The PLO Charter did not condemn Jordanian rule over – what the UN itself condemned in 1950 – their illegally seized “West Bank”. The PLO Charter did not condemn Egypt rule over Gaza in the PLO Charter. Yet the British and French “inserted” into 242 the language of “illegal occupied territories” in the lands of Samaria and Gaza!
Channel 4 Confronts Naftali Bennet on UN’s Israel Genocide Claims, Then Gets Exposed On Live Tv!
The question posed upon Bennet assumes that the two-state solution, the only option acceptable according to “international law”. This assumption its own unique ad hominem personal attack against the Jewish state by the same nations in thee UN who opposed the establishment of the Jewish state. Recall in 1939 the Chamberlain government betrayed the League of Nations Palestine Mandate with its infamous White Paper which sealed the Shoah fate of European Jewry.

Proof that land for peace – inherently flawed as a political basis of negotiations … Olmert offered Arafat East Jerusalem and 98% of Samaria and all of Gaza as a Palestinian state and Arafat rejected the offer. This shocked President Clinton. To this day he remains flabbergasted by Arafat’s refusal to accept such an incredibly stupid peace proposal made by an utterly incompetent and criminal Prime Minister – who later went to prison!

Arabs reject the 1917 Balfour Declaration, which served as the 1922 League of Nations Palestine Mandate. Balfour serves as the definition of political Zionism. Arabs states universally reject whom they perceive as dhimmi Jews equal rights to achieve self-determination in the Middle East. UN Resolution 3379 – Zionism is Racism – stands in stark contrast to the 1917 Balfour Declaration. Hence the “Land for Peace, Two-State Solution” nonsense amounts to utter poppycock.

National foreign leaders who promote this rhetoric fraud – clear and present enemies of the Jewish state and Israeli National independence. English and French imperialism in UN 242 attempted to divide Jerusalem as the post WWII Allies divided Berlin and the two Germanys. A two-state solution produced the Korean War, the Vietnam War and the first Iraq war, commonly known as the Gulf War. The two-state solution produced the political instability which defines the Indian/Pakistan wars.

Bottom line, foreign governments do not determine through dictate the strategic interests of the Jewish state. They do not determine the international borders of the Jewish state. They do not determine the Capital City of the Jewish state. Yet the vast majority of UN member states refuse to recognize Jerusalem as the Capital of the Jewish State. These same hostile state routinely condemn Israel in one-sided UN condemnations of the Jewish state.

Why does generation followed by many generations thereafter continually make blood libel slanders against the Jewish people? Tumah middot spirits breath within the Yatzir Ha’Raw within the hearts of Goyim in every generations. Consequently Goyim behave like dogs who continually return and eat their own vomit. Herein the explanation why virtually every generation of Goyim ever living always repeat blood libel slanders made against the Jews which defies all rational explanation.

The Arab Israeli conflict not limited to strong emotions any more than to the absurd notion: “Land for Peace” propaganda rhetoric utter nonsense. The Human spirit wars tohor vs tuma spirits within the Human heart. Goyim hatred of Jews without cause exposes the tumah spirits which dominate the hearts of Goyim national leaders and the common man on the streets – from generation to generation to eternity.

By incorporating the concepts of tohor and tuma in this political discussion its my hope that the readers can “connect the dots” and perceive complex, abstract ideas on more that simple rational thought reasoning processes. A child does not understand the rebuke made by an adult that the child must behave in a more mature manner. Yet before that child can grow to become a Man, he must weigh reality seen through multiple and many lenses of perspective.

The Legacy Media PANICS and BEGS FOR MERCY After Charlie Kirk Murder! | Elon Musk

Charlie Kirk attempted to have open discussions and paid for it with his life. Charlie Kirk got shot for attempting to hold open conversations with opposing “others”. The UN genocide declaration against Israel without any mention to thee Oct 7th massacre absolutely no different.

    1. Moshe, thank you for taking the time to explain these things so clearly. I appreciate the way you connect the patterns of the past with what we see in the present, showing how the old libels against the Jewish people reappear in modern forms like UN rhetoric. Your use of tohor and tuma to describe the deeper spiritual forces behind this repeating cycle gives me a new lens to understand why the same accusations keep returning through the generations. I also value your emphasis that only Israel itself must define its own future, not outsiders who recycle old agendas. Michael
