Psalm 100:3 (ESV)
“Know that the Lord, He is God! It is He who made us, and we are His; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.”
Morning Meditation
As you wake and step into a new day, Psalm 100:3 offers a vital reminder of who you are—and, more importantly, whose you are. In a world that rushes us into defining ourselves by our performance, possessions, or popularity, this verse calls us to rest in a far greater identity: we belong to the Lord. He is God. We are His. These few words contain a wellspring of security and peace for the day ahead.
The psalmist doesn’t merely acknowledge God’s existence—he calls us to know that the Lord is God. This knowing is not intellectual alone but relational and experiential. It is a truth that anchors us when the winds of anxiety or confusion blow through our thoughts. You did not create yourself. You are not expected to sustain yourself alone. God made you, and in doing so, declared your value. You are not an accident of biology or fate—you are a deliberate creation of the God who reigns over all. He shaped you with care, purpose, and eternal love.
And more than that, you are His. What a marvelous truth! You are not just the product of His hands; you are the object of His affection. You are His sheep, and He is your Shepherd. That image is rich with intimacy and care. Sheep trust the shepherd’s voice, rely on His provision, and follow His lead. As this day unfolds, remember that you do not walk into it alone. The One who made you is with you, guiding, providing, protecting, and calling you by name. Let this be the melody in your soul today: “I am His.”
Morning Prayer
To the Father:
Heavenly FATHER, I praise You this morning for the certainty that You are God and that I belong to You. Before I face the demands of this day, I pause to acknowledge that You made me. You shaped my soul, formed my frame, and breathed life into my being. I am not my own—I am Yours. Thank You for Your fatherly care, for the love that brought me into existence, and for the purpose You have set before me. Let me walk today not as one adrift but as a child held in the arms of the FATHER.
To the Son:
Lord JESUS, Good Shepherd of my soul, I thank You that I am Your sheep. You know my name, and You laid down Your life for me. When the path ahead seems uncertain, remind me that Your footsteps lead the way. When I feel anxious or alone, whisper Your presence to my heart. Let me hear Your voice amid the noise, and help me follow You with joy and obedience. You are not only my Savior but my guide, and I trust You to lead me today in grace and truth.
To the Holy Spirit:
HOLY SPIRIT, awaken my heart this morning to the truth of Psalm 100:3. Seal this word within me so that it shapes how I think, speak, and act today. Remind me when I am tempted to strive for approval or lose myself in comparison that I am the LORD’s. Let Your presence fill my mind with peace and my soul with gratitude. Empower me to reflect the heart of my Shepherd to those I meet today. I yield myself to Your leading, trusting You to cultivate within me the fruit that brings glory to GOD.
Thought for the Day
You are not your own. You belong to the One who created you, redeemed you, and walks beside you. Let your identity in Him guide your steps today.
