In Revelation 5, John sees God the Father holding a sealed scroll. It represents the title deed to the earth, signifying redemption through divine judgment. No one in heaven or on earth is worthy to open it until the Lion from the tribe of Judah, and the Root of David, steps up as the slain Lamb. His worthiness prompts worship from the elders, angels, and all creation, ushering in the fulfillment of redemption.

4 Living
The four living creatures are found in Revelation 4:6–9; 5:6–14; 6:1–8; 14:3; 15:7; and 19:4. The texts that describe these creatures do not indicate that they are figurative—they are real, actual beings. The four living creatures (literally “beings”) are a special, exalted order of angelic being or cherubim. This is clear by their close proximityContinue reading “4 Living”
The Loneliest Sheep
A high-profile new resident arrived in Dumfries and Galloway recently – a ewe once known as ‘Britain’s Loneliest Sheep’. Songless Saints
I was on a scriptural safari. Prowling through the Ephesian letter, I was tracking an elusive, totally unrelated verse when God’s sharp sword flashed, suddenly slicing me to the core. . . . speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord. (Ephesians 5:19) EveryoneContinue reading “Songless Saints”

Most often, weContinue reading “Are You Ready for Christmas Morn”
The Privilege of Free Worship
The privilege to express worship to God in freedom is something the free church takes for granted. — http://t.co/BJLmrWPcf0
Rethink Worship
How would you define worship? It is common for people – especially people of faith – to speak of human beings as creatures that were made to worship (as some hymns proclaim). Many anthropological studies have shown that every human culture has had worshipping rituals that they held dear. If this is true, then worshipContinue reading “Rethink Worship”
