We have all been there. We are on a crowded road and looking our mirror to find some fool bearing down on us flashing his lights. He wants around and pulls up so close we can almost read the words he is spewing. A lot of thoughts run through your mind at the moment. You think about speeding up or slowing down to aggravate him. You could turn on your lights so it looks like you are slamming your brakes. Or you can give him and unwanted gesture. Fools make us angry.
But what if you simply calmed down, pulled over at the next safe place and let him fly by? What if you let him have his accident somewhere else?
We meet people like that now and then. They are in a hurry and filled with anger spewing venom. They ride us and we think unkind thoughts. But what if we simply got out of their way and let them have their accident somewhere else. Let them go on so you can have your day back. You don’t need to engage people like that. Sometimes you need to ignore them.
So the next time someone is riding your case, spewing venom and pushing you, ignore them. Pray for the poor soul who decides to engage them. None of us need an accident waiting to happen.
