Lesson: God always fulfills His promises (Luke 1:31-33; cf. II Sam. 7:12-17).
There is an eternal difference between trusting someone and being convinced that their word will all be fulfilled. We know in our hearts that God keeps His promises but we still continue to live as if we don’t expect all to be kept.
Our children at their youngest can demonstrate such faith in their parents but we manage to reduce those expectations. God has done nothing on His part to reduce our expectations. We are the ones who have done so. What would happen if we could believe like the children still?
