Jesus describes God as the vine keeper. It is that relationship of Jesus to the Father that calls for the relationship between Jesus and His disciples. It is the Divine Vine Keeper who cares for the vine, tends it, and watches for the fruit. The Divine Vine Keeper plants it, prunes it, and will receive glory from it.
