Spiritual transformation continues in a growing relationship of love, trust, and obedience.
The new identity believers have in Christ is indeed an all-surpassing miracle. But it does not mean that with this new identity believers are fully mature in Christ. While God loves the believer in an infant state of rebirth, He is not content to leave the believer in spiritual diapers. There is much growth to be encouraged. And that is where the Holy Spirit enters and begins to help develop the fullness of the new identity that the believer has received with repentance and salvation.
