Ryan Green is a video game developer out in Des Moines, Iowa who is getting a lot of buzz for his new game, That Dragon, Cancer, which is only a “game” in that there’s no better word for it. The experience is really based on his, Joel, and his four-year battle with cancer. As a game, the experience is less about solving problems and overcoming obstacles than it is, as Green says, “to be present in the moment.” It’s a very different concept, but it’s getting some incredible buzz from those who’ve played it, including Ars Technica’s Sam Machkovech who says, “That Dragon, Cancer delivered perhaps the most raw time I’ve ever spent with a video game. When it launches, it may redefine the form.” Green has launched a Kickstarter to get his game funded, and the video is worth your time …
