John 20:2-9 Stages of Belief on Christmas Day
People who hear about the Resurrection for the first time may need time before they can comprehend this amazing story. Like Mary and the disciples, they may pass through stages of belief. From unbelief to puzzlement to encounter and then commitment. As they commit themselves to the risen Lord and devote their lives to serving him, they will begin to understand fully the reality of his presence with them (John 20:28).
Lesson: If people don’t understand when you tell them about Jesus’ resurrection, give them time. Even the disciples didn’t believe it at first
