Today, I woke up to our new normal in this world: explosions and death. While the media blazed with theories and threats, mothers and fathers quietly looked at their children and worried.
The world is in a war where no place is ultimately safe and freedom truly comes with a price. Then I remembered that this is Holy Week and what seemed safe to the disciples then was only a prelude to death and fear on Friday.
It is hard to see resurrection when blood lies in the street. Yet it is then that resurrection is desired most. While we huddle in our upper rooms this week and remember Him, let’s also remember two promises He made.
“I will contend with those who contend with you and your children I will save.” Isaiah 49:35
“The Lord you God is with you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17
God is contending with those who contend with His. He will quiet our fears with His love and if we are still enough, we may hear Him singing over us. Trust His hands and His love and listen for His voice. He has not forgotten you. He never will.
