Your Discipline of Prayer

Before you begin your time with god, pause for a few moments and focus inward. Take three deep breaths, relax, and recognize that you are in the loving presence of God, who is with you as you continue your journey of spiritual growth.

John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give it to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid.”

Peace is an action, an attitude, and most of all, a gift from Jesus. The Ten Commandments, the Beatitudes, and the life of Jesus help us know what to do to live in God’s peace and in peace with one another. Worry and fear can intrude on our lives and prevent us from knowing God’s peace. It helps to remember each day to entrust ourselves to God’s protection and care.

(Speak to Jesus, using these words or others that come to mind.)

Jesus, you bring your peace into my life. Watch over me and guide me with your Spirit. Help me to know the peace of your presence.
