Your Discipline of Prayer

Take a few minutes to focus your attention. Let the distractions of the day gently slip away as you settle into the presence of God.

Mark 1:15 “This is the time of fulfillment. The kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.”

The hallmark of Jesus’ early ministry is his passionate proclamation of the nearness of the Kingdom of God. On the journey of faith, his listeners were lost. Jesus implores them, and us, to repent, to turn around, to believe the good news so that we can see the Kingdom in our midst. He lets us know that in order to see the Kingdom, we may have to change the direction our lives have taken. Jesus provides through his words and actions the map by which we will find our destination.

(Pray to Jesus, using these or your own words.)

Jesus, brother and guide, stay with me on this journey of faith. Help me to more faithfully follow where you lead, that I might one day arrive in the fullness of God’s Kingdom.
