The Lord spoke to Joshua. Until now the Lord had spoken to Joshua through Moses, but now He spoke directly, personally. Each of us as a priest before God has access to the Father by the Holy Spirit. God speaks to us by His Spirit, giving us confidence. He speaks through Scripture and also in the secret place of our own souls.
