I Sincerely Want to Be

Life vastly simplifies, and satisfaction greatly amplifies when we begin to realize our awesome roles—that God is God.

Sovereign Lord, Your Word says, “This is the one I esteem: he who is humble and contrite in spirit, and trembles at my word” (Isa. 66:2). Father, I can hardly imagine being someone You esteem, but I sincerely want to be! Make me that kind of person through the power of Your Holy Spirit, Lord.

You said to Your servant, Daniel, “Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them” (Dan. 10:12).

You are my God just as You were his. If I set my mind to gain understanding and to humble myself before You, You will hear my words and come in response to them.
