Psalm 103:8-12 (New International Version):
“The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever; he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.”
Morning Prayer:
Gracious and compassionate Lord, I come before you in the morning light, Thankful for the dawn of a new day, For the tender mercy that awaits me.
You are slow to anger, abounding in love, Your compassion knows no bounds. In this moment, I seek your forgiveness, For the times I’ve fallen short and sinned.
Thank you, dear Father, for your mercy, You do not treat me as my sins deserve. You do not hold onto anger forever, But extend your grace, like a gentle river.
Your love reaches higher than the heavens, Exceeding all human comprehension. As I fear and reverence your holy name, Wrap me in the warmth of your affection.
As far as the east is from the west, You have removed my transgressions, blest. In this new day, I rise with a heart renewed, Knowing your forgiveness makes me whole and true.
Guide my steps, O Lord, throughout this day, Fill me with your wisdom, light my way. May my thoughts, words, and actions align, With your will, divine and sublime.
I offer you my gratitude and praise, For your faithfulness that never decays. In the morning stillness, I find my rest, Secure in your love, forever blessed.
In the name of Jesus, I pray, Amen.
