As I Arise…

Proverbs 18:24 states: “A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.”

Morning Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father, As I begin this new day, I thank you for the gift of life and the opportunity to embrace the blessings that lie ahead. I am grateful for the friendships and companionships you have placed in my life, knowing that they can bring joy and support. However, I am reminded of the wisdom found in Proverbs 18:24, which tells us that having many companions does not guarantee steadfastness or lasting friendship.

Lord, I pray for discernment and wisdom in choosing my companions wisely. Help me recognize those who genuinely care for me and have my best interests at heart. Guide me to cultivate relationships that are grounded in love, respect, and loyalty, for these are the foundations of lasting friendship.

Above all, Lord, I seek your presence and friendship. You are the ultimate friend who sticks closer than a brother. Your love is unwavering, your guidance is constant, and your support is unending. In times of joy, you rejoice with me, and in times of sorrow, you comfort me. Today, I invite you to walk beside me, to be my closest companion and confidant.

Grant me the grace to be a faithful and loyal friend to others as well. Help me to extend a helping hand, to lend a listening ear, and to offer encouragement to those in need. May my actions reflect the love and compassion you have shown me, so that I may be a blessing to those around me.

In the name of Jesus, my truest friend, I pray. Amen.
