2 Peter 3:9 (NIV) reads:
“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”
Morning Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We wake today in the light of your eternal promise, knowing your timing is perfect and your mercy endless. We are humbled and thankful for your patience, oh Lord, which shines upon us every day, a beacon reminding us that you yearn for all your children to turn to you.
Guide us this day, and every day, to see your hand in every moment, to feel your love in every challenge and every blessing. Infuse our hearts with your divine patience, that we may offer it to others just as you offer it to us, never rushing, but gently leading others towards you.
Teach us to embrace the repentance that you desire from us, allowing our hearts to be transformed by your grace. May we let go of our human haste and instead understand the divine pace of your creation.
Through our words, actions, and thoughts today, let us not fall into impatience or frustration. Instead, may we mirror your long-suffering love to all those we encounter, reflecting your compassion, your kindness, and your grace.
Lord, may our journey today draw us ever closer to you, fostering repentance and spiritual growth, fostering an understanding of your eternal perspective.
In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.
