Philippians 2:5-8 (NIV) states:
“In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!”
Morning Prayer:
Gracious and loving God,
As I begin this new day, I come before you with a humble heart. Help me, Lord, to have the same mindset as Christ Jesus in all my relationships. Teach me to emulate His selflessness and humility, putting the needs of others before my own. May I never seek personal gain or advantage at the expense of those around me.
Lord, remind me that Jesus, who is divine and equal to You in nature, willingly made Himself nothing for our sake. He took on the form of a servant and became human, showing us the perfect example of sacrificial love. Help me, Lord, to follow in His footsteps and to serve others with joy and compassion.
In this world that often exalts power and self-interest, help me to remember that true greatness lies in humility and obedience to Your will. Strengthen me, Lord, to embrace a life of obedience, even in the face of challenges and difficulties.
Lord Jesus, as I reflect on your ultimate act of humility and obedience, when you willingly gave up your life on the cross for our salvation, I am humbled. Thank you for your immense love and grace, which brings hope and redemption to all who believe in you.
As I step into this new day, I surrender myself to you, Lord. Guide my thoughts, words, and actions, so that they may reflect your love and grace. Use me as an instrument of your peace, kindness, and compassion in the lives of those I encounter.
In Jesus’ name, I pray.
Amen.
