A New Year Poem and Prayer

The turning year, a canvas bare,
God’s mercies new, beyond compare.
Through seasons past, His hand has stayed,
In shadowed paths, His light displayed.

The morning breaks, the dawn anew,
A steadfast hope for me and you.
From age to age, His promises stand,
A firm foundation, a guiding hand.

“Behold, I make all things brand new,”
The voice of Heaven speaks to you.
Though trials come and storms arise,
His grace will lift, His love supplies.*

In the unknown, we rest secure,
For Christ, our Rock, will still endure.
So press ahead, take heart, be strong,
For joy will come with Heaven’s song.

A Prayer for the New Year

Heavenly Father,
As the calendar turns, we bow in awe before You, the Eternal One, who holds all time in Your hands. Your Word declares, “The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness” (Lamentations 3:22-23). We thank You for carrying us through the trials and triumphs of the past year, and we place our trust in You for the days ahead.

Lord, as we face the unknown, remind us that You are unchanging, our rock and refuge. You have said, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11). May we walk boldly into the new year, confident in Your promises and faithful to Your calling.

Strengthen our hearts to endure the challenges we may encounter. Help us to reflect Your love, even in adversity, and to extend Your grace to those in need. Fill us with the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and the joy that comes from knowing You.

Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom (Psalm 90:12). May this year be a time of spiritual growth, deeper fellowship with You, and service to others for Your glory. In every change, remind us that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8).

We consecrate this year to You, Lord. Lead us by Your Spirit, and may Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Happy New Year! May this season be one of renewed faith and overflowing hope.

Pastor Michael
