What’s a Mother Worth?

Next Sunday, we celebrate Mother’s Day and honor our mothers. This week, I will be stepping back from our study of the life of Christ to spend time trying to understand how God views motherhood. If you would be so kind, and you had a gracious mother, please send me a ‘word’ or ‘thought’ you have for your mothers or mothers in general. I want to reference them in the message on Mother’s Day. Thank you in advance.

Now here is a gift for today:

A Mother’s Worth

In the tapestry of life, a mother weaves her threads, With wisdom, strength, and grace, she tends her homestead. Her value surpasses rubies, a treasure to behold, In her, the heart of her family finds warmth, never cold.

She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her. (Proverbs 31:10)

Her hands are ever busy, with tasks both great and small, From dawn till dusk, she labors, giving her all. She rises in the darkness, her lamp never fades, Her diligence and dedication, in every task displayed.

She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks. (Proverbs 31:17)

With skillful hands, she tends to every need, Feeding her household, planting seeds of good deed. Her children rise and call her blessed, her husband sings her praise, For her love and devotion, through all of life’s maze.

Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her. (Proverbs 31:28)

She clothes herself in strength, her dignity her guide, Her words are filled with kindness, never malice, nor pride. Her wisdom flows like a river, guiding those in her care, In her, they find solace, knowing she’ll always be there.

She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. (Proverbs 31:26)

So let us honor mothers, with gratitude and love, For they reflect the virtues, bestowed from above. In their selfless devotion, God’s love we see, A beacon of hope, for all eternity.
