Praying the Scriptures

Adoring, Confessing, Thanking, and Supplicating Through 2 Chronicles 6:14-17

“He said: ‘O Lord, God of Israel, there is no God like you in heaven or on earth—you who keep your covenant of love with your servants who continue wholeheartedly in your way. You have kept your promise to your servant David my father; with your mouth you have promised and with your hand you have fulfilled it—as it is today. Now Lord, the God of Israel, keep for your servant David my father the promises you made to him when you said, “You shall never fail to have a successor to sit before me on the throne of Israel, if only your descendants are careful in all they do to walk before me according to my law, as you have done.” And now, Lord, the God of Israel, let your word that you promised your servant David come true.’” (2 Chronicles 6:14-17)

Adoration

Heavenly Father, I come before You in awe and adoration, acknowledging that there is no God like You in heaven or on earth. Your faithfulness and covenantal love are unmatched. I praise You, Lord, for Your unwavering commitment to keep Your promises. You are the God who speaks and fulfills His word. I worship You for Your steadfast love and Your faithfulness that spans generations. You are truly the Keeper of Promises, and I exalt Your holy name.

Confession

Merciful God, as I reflect on Your faithfulness to David, I am acutely aware of my own unfaithfulness. I confess that I have not always walked wholeheartedly in Your way. I have failed to keep Your commands and to trust in Your promises. Forgive me for my sins of commission and omission, for the times I have strayed from Your path. Cleanse my heart, Lord, and help me to live in a way that honors You.

Thanksgiving

Gracious Lord, I thank You for the promises You have kept and continue to keep. Thank You for being a God who fulfills His word. Your faithfulness to David reminds me of Your faithfulness to all Your children. I am grateful for Your covenantal love that never fails and for Your hand that upholds Your promises. Thank You, Lord, for Your unwavering commitment to Your word and for the blessings that flow from Your faithfulness.

Supplication

Almighty God, I humbly ask for Your strength and provision in my life. Just as You kept Your promises to David, I trust You to meet my needs today. Lord, help me to walk carefully in all I do, according to Your law. Give me the wisdom and strength to live a life that reflects Your will. And as You promised David a successor on the throne, I ask that You establish my steps and guide me in Your ways, ensuring that my life is aligned with Your divine plan.

Consecration

Lord, as I read Your word and see Your faithfulness to David, I am inspired to commit myself anew to Your service. Help me to walk before You with integrity and obedience, fulfilling Your will in my life. I consecrate myself to You, trusting in Your strength to help me follow Your commands and to live in a way that brings glory to Your name. May Your word be fulfilled in my life as it was in David’s.

Intercession

Heavenly Father, I lift up my family, friends, and church community to You. Just as You kept Your promises to David, I pray that You would keep Your promises to them. Strengthen their faith and help them to walk wholeheartedly in Your way. For those who are struggling, provide comfort and assurance of Your faithfulness. And for our leaders, both in the church and in our nation, grant them wisdom and integrity to lead according to Your will. May Your covenantal love and faithfulness be evident in their lives.

Amen.
